Since early 2000, blogs have captured the interest of corporations, news and media companies, and educators. The openness and ease of use of blogs enabled individuals to share ideas and connect with colleagues, friends, and family. Blogs have become important tools for informal sharing of information and idea expression. When used in conjunction with RSS, blogs can be effective learning and network formation tools.
This session will explore the use of blogs in academic environments, focusing on emerging research as to their effectiveness, and ideas for implementation based on experiences of faculty in higher education.
