When Lyndsey Amott first heard about technical writing, she thought she could not imagine a more boring job. This impression was quickly forgotten during her first writing gig when she discovered the satisfaction of coaxing information out of taciturn and apparently uncooperative subject-matter experts and converting it and some rather incomprehensible prose into documentation that anyone could understand. Since then, she has written easy-to-read documentation for numerous companies, including Nortel, BNR, Ericsson, CAE, CN, and Wawanesa.

In 2003, Lyndsey created docsymmetry.com, a website that provides writing tips to technical writers and managers of technical writers. It currently receives over 9000 visits a month.
